This is Champion Landmark Monarch Fly-N-Solo, bred by
Roseann and Susan Gorman. This little gem finished his championship in
short order and before he was eight months old. He was originally owned by Doris
Hearing, of Schipperke fame. When Doris became terminally ill she
placed all of her many Schipperke dogs before she passed away, much
like the woman in Ottumwa, IA in the TV movie, "Who Will Love My
Children". Doris kept Lindy and another Papillon champion to the
end.
Doris asked my friend, Roxanne, if she would take Lindy
after she died and Roxanne agreed, although she had no intentions of
breeding Papillons. When Roxanne learned that I we were interested in
starting up in Papillons, she offered this wonderful little fellow to
Audrey and me. We took one look at him and could not believe our good
fortune.
Lindy had been used at stud a couple of times before we
got him, to Ch. Windstar's Amber of Windsong CDX, owned by Terry
Mount. Amber produced three puppies in both litters. Unfortunately,
one pup in her second litter did not survive. All five of her
surviving puppies finished their championships making her a dam of
merit (DOM) and Lindy a sire of merit (SOM).
Denadee's Princess Ansley, owned by a long time friends
Deanna & Ed Timm & family, was bred to Lindy in 2000. One of
those puppies is now
being trained for the show ring.
Pipistrelle Sierra Sue, my Irish import bitch was bred to Lindy and produced five pups, four
females and one male, whelped on December 20, 2000. Unfortunately, one
female was DOA.
Wendy Rios, of Trinket Papillons, bred the mother of
her Ch. Trinket's Warrior Princess, Trinket's Margaret May. She
delivered three females and one male on January 17, 2001.
Lindy is shown here winning a Group II.
He has been CERF tested on several occasions and no
abnormalities were seen. He has good patellas also. This guy has never
seen a stranger. He will give kisses and "high fives" to
anyone, without hesitation. It would be difficult to find a Papillon
with a better, more stable temperament (or any breed for that matter).
Lindy's show record is an
enviable one:
